Hinterland connections

Cuxport has excellent connections to the European road and rail networks and international destinations via inland waterways.

Roads

The nearby motorway link provides Cuxport customers with direct access to the German and European hinterland. The roundabout at the start of the A27 is optimised for heavy-haulage trucks. A traffic light allows heavy-haulage trucks to enter or depart the port without a police escort.

Rail

The terminal rail head connects customers on the one hand to the largest European marshalling yard in Hamburg-Maschen. On the other hand, a rail connection via Bremerhaven and Bremen is used for automobile block trains.

Inland waterways

Cuxport is directly connected to the European network of inland waterways via the river Elbe, easily and efficiently reaching destinations such as Poland or the Czech Republic. Via the Mittellandkanal, even destinations in the Benelux aera can be reached.
